No third party love for Nintendo as Deep Silver confirms ‘no plans’ for Wii U

The list of third-party support for Nintendo's Wii U grew slimmer as Deep Silver's COO Geoff Mulligan confirmed the company has no plans on bringing its catalog of games to Nintendo's new console. Unfortunately, this means no Saints Row 4 or Metro: Last Light.

"With other companies, I've been very successful with Nintendo," Mulligan told Game Informer, before adding, "With Wii U, the Nintendo market right now and their audience is not who we reach best."

"It's not something we're entertaining in the near or foreseeable future," he concluded. It's another unfortunate blow for Nintendo which is struggling on bringing third-party developers and publishers on board. Not all third-party publishers have the same belief as Mulligan; Ubisoft is one of the Wii U's biggest supporters. As such, they will be bringing plenty of AAA games to the console, including Assassin's Creed 4, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist, and Rayman Legends; although, the latter of the three was originally created as a Wii U exclusive before Ubisoft announced it'd be coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 as well.

In the same interview, Mulligan also told the publication that Deep Silver would not be supporting next-gen consoles at launch either.
