Nolan North leaks The Last of Us 2

Reveals sequel to The Last of Us is in the works

Nolan North, who is a voice actor for almost every video game along with Troy Baker, has leaked that The Last of Us 2 is in the works over at Naughty Dog.

Speaking at a Metrocon 2015 panel in Tampa, Florida, North revealed the sequel in response to a question from a patron on whether he had any more projects with Naughty Dog.

"For now the last one. I know they’re doing The Last of Us 2, but my character in The Last of Us had an untimely demise," North stated.

A sequel to what many believed to be Game of the Year when it released in 2013 is a huge gamble with an extremetly high risk/reward. Sure, it'll probably sell well, but the expectations to match or exceed what The Last of Us could be too much — even for Naughty Dog. Another story with Joel or Ellie would be tough, especially given how good the first game was. The main catching point of The Last of Us was the emotional attachment and connection which the storyline provided between the players and characters. A sequel attempting to force more story upon us could prove quite difficult, as could trying to introduce entirely new characters to bond with. While the idea of a sequel may sound good in theory, it was Jay Z who said "How ya gonna upgrade me higher than #1?"

You can watch the full panel discussion below and his remarks come just after the 1:06:28  mark. The Last of Us was acclaimed as the best game to be launched on the PS3 during its generation and the remastered version, which was launched last August, is now included with every PS4 purchase.
