The first teaser trailer for 2017's Power Rangers has finally arrived at this year's New York Comic Con.
Finally, after much anticipation and fans waiting the world over with bated breath, the very first 'Power Rangers' teaser trailer has arrived! Yesterday, we received a new line-up of character posters that detailed the newest incarnations of the suits, with a promise that the trailer was only mere hours away. Now, the world has gotten its first real taste of what the movie might be like and…its not terrible (phew!).
The trailer focuses more on character. Its not much in that way of Zords or weapons, but we start more with our five heroes and what they're personalities might be like. Apparently, there seems to be a bit of a 'Breakfast Club' feel, with all of them regularly meeting at Angel Grove High every Saturday for some reason, and being ridiculed for it. After discovering what appear to be their morphers, they begin to exude their enhanced strength, durability, and combat proficiency. Its not until the very end do we begin to see the first glimpse of the teens "morphing".
The one mysterious element of the whole trailer is Rita's cryptic line, "I've killed Rangers before." What does she mean "before". There were Rangers before the original team? Was she one of them? The attempt at world building seems to be trying to create a much deeper lore, an endeavor that could prove pretty rewarding if they pull it off.
Power Rangers releases March 24, 2017!
