There were two major hacks this year — The Fappening, and the hack on Sony Pictures Entertainment that made millions of pages of private information public.
Needless to say, I don't think President Barack Obama will be mentioning Kate Upton and Jennifer Lawrence nude pics in his State Of The Union Speech on January 20. But he will mention the Sony hack.
The President met with members of Congress in Washington DC today to inform them that cyber security will be part of his speech. From Deadline:
"I've got a state of the Union next week, one of the things we're going to be talking about is cyber-security," Obama told congressional leaders, according to pool reports. "With the Sony attack that took place, with the Twitter account that was hacked by Islamist jihadist sympathizers yesterday, it just goes to show much more work we need to do both public and private sector to strengthen our cyber-security."
You all remember the situation between North Korea and The Interview, where James Franco and Seth Rogen try to assassinate Kim Jong-un. After being pulled from major theater chains, The Interview was shown in smaller, independent theaters on Christmas Day, and released on On-Demand services. As of last week, The Interview became Sony's #1 online film of all-time.
Now I wonder if the attacks on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live by Lizard Squad will be mentioned.
