Ocarina of Time 3D Dated, Launching June 19

When Nintendo announced The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D for the 3DS, Zelda fans everywhere were immediately excited about the game’s release, which many assumed would coincide with the launch of the handheld. When Nintendo clarified that the game wouldn’t hit store shelves until after E3 2011, most fans let out a collective groan of impatience. For those of you waiting eagerly for news on Ocarina of Time 3D, you’ll be glad to know that Nintendo has put an official date on the upcoming title.

Mark your calendars, Zelda fanatics, because Ocarina of Time 3D will be hitting Nintendo’s newest dual screen handheld on June 19. That’s almost two weeks after this year’s E3, so you won’t have to wait too long. Now that you know exactly when Ocarina of Time 3D will be landing on the 3DS, will you be picking it up on day one?

Ocarina of Time 3D will include all of the gameplay excellence from the original Nintendo 64 version of the game, boast improved visuals, and feature easier item menu navigation. Additionally, Nintendo is throwing in the Master Quest version of the game, which remixes all the dungeons for gamers who want an extra challenge. It definitely looks like a great portable package for fans of the series, even if we have already seen the game ported numerous times before.

In related Nintendo news, Wii Play: Motion was announced for June 13 in a press release. The sequel to Wii Play will include 12 new mini-games and come bundled with a Wii Remote Plus. Given the success of the first Wii Play, I’d recommend picking this game up if you don’t already own a Wii Remote Plus and intend on playing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. It certainly beats paying money to buy FlingSmash, which also comes bundled with the controller but flat out stinks in terms of gameplay.
