Off The Record – Big Sean Plays Afro Samurai 2 with GameZone

GameZone kicks off its latest video series with Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma and Big Sean

Earlier this week, Redacted Studios and publisher Versus Evil celebrated the launch of Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma, Volume 1, the first of three distinct volumes comprising the sequel to 2009's third-person action game Afro Samurai.

Picking up where the original left off, the story of Afro Samurai 2 follows the path of Kuma, a cybernetically enhanced killing machine with one purpose, to kill Afro. Each episode will introduce a new story arch, characters, and combat styles to master.

Gameplay aside, one of the biggest draws of the Afro Samurai franchise is its hip hop influence. Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma expands upon this with an original soundtrack featuring up and coming indie hip hop artists that have been mentored by music producer and rapper RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan. With such a heavy hip hop influence, we thought who better to play Afro Samurai 2 with than one of the world's most popular hip hop icons, Big Sean.

So to kick off GameZone's brand new video series, Off The Record, we flew to New York to meet up with Big Sean and play Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma on his lovely hotel couch. Check out his impressions in the video above.

Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma is now available for digital download on PC and PlayStation 4, and will be available for Xbox One on October 9, 2015. In celebration of the the release of Afro Samurai 2 and the debut of Off The Record, we're also giving away a PlayStation 4 signed by Big Sean.
