Official Star Wars app launches on iOS and Android

In order to help fans stay up to date on the latest Star Wars news and fulfill all of their Star Wars wishes, Disney has released an "official" app for the popular franchise.

Simply called Star Wars, the app connects you to a galaxy far, far away, so that you can get instant notifications on new  announcements, use an augmented realty feature to unlock 3D characters from the upcoming film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, take themed selfies, and access behind-the-scenes facts and interviews from creators working on the franchise.

The app is completely free to download, and is available starting today on iOS and Android devices.

In related news, Disney and Lucasfilm recently announced that the second movie in the Star Wars Anthology series will be about Han Solo.
