One does not simply bring new dungeons to Lord of the Rings Online

Once upon a time, I paid monthly for The Lord of the Rings Online. The last time I played was right after they switched to the free-to-play model they currently have, just to see what it was like. At at recent "Take the Hobbits to Isengard" event, community manager Rick Heaton said that Turbine Entertainment is not developing any new dungeons or raids for the long-running MMORP, which released in 2007.

According to Heaton, the team at Turbine is not working on new instances, raids, or Rohan housing. However, he did say that updating and revamping older zones remains a "possibility, but there's "significant technical issues" that are in the way of server mergers.

The fifth expansion to the game, Helm's Deep, launched in November after a delay from a power outage at a data center of Turbine's. It brought five new areas into western Rohan and massive battles where players fight alongside Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli and King Theodan against the Uruk-hai.

Turbine will also never release official player population numbers, with the quote, "Unless we can say we have 10 million players and are bigger than WoW, what's the point?"
