Great news multiplayer fans. Super Smash Bros. will fully support online play on both the Wii U and 3DS. That's some exciting stuff considering the Super Smash series is best enjoyed when played against other people instead of the CPU.
Sakurai showed off two separate videos on both the Wii U version and the 3DS version, showing a match between Tokyo and Kyoto. He also suggested, given the game's fast pace, that players on the 3DS should only play in stable wifi environments and Wii U players to use the Wii Ethernet plug to play on a wired connection, rather than wireless.
Sakurai unveiled two separate online modes for the game: For Fun and For Glory. For Fun is described as a free for all where anything goes, and rules don't really apply.
For Glory however will be a more structured match, with only one stage available and no items allowed.
Since For Glory mode uses Final Destination as its only allowed stage, you might be thinking that it might get a little boring to stare at that same stage over and over again. Fear not, there will be multiple designs for Final Destination, modeled after various game franchises like Kirby and Metroid. Here are a few examples.
