Apart from the new games and the reveal of Xbox One X, one of the biggest stories from Microsoft's E3 presser was the introduction of original Xbox games into the Backwards Compatibility program. The hype surrounding the announcement was unquestioned and was compounded even further by the announcement of the return of "The Duke," which will be compatible with both Xbox One and PC. Naturally, this has all raised questions about what we can expect from the Backwards Compatibility emulation, and one fan reached out to Xbox VP, Mike Ybarra to ask about the possibility of achievements.
Unfortunately, achievements will not be happening. Here's the tweet:
No.

At the same point, considering the amount of work that goes into Backwards Compatibility, it's understandable why adding achievements is not the highest of priorities at the moment. That said, I'm just happy that my Xbox One is gradually becoming an all-in-one platform to play my entire catalog of Xbox games, which appears to have been the intent for the console all along.
