Halloween is around the corner and that means that every self-respecting multiplayer game has some appropriately themed event, and Overwatch is one of these self-respecting multiplayer games.

"When the shadows grow long and the nights grow cold . . .
And witches’ cauldrons bubble with potions untold. . .
When spirits and ghouls and abominations appear. . .
It can mean only one thing: Halloween is here!"

Overwatch invites players to partake in the first ever PvE Brawl, "Junkenstine's Revenge" and explore the haunted streets of Hollywood, and of course, open sweet, sweet Halloween loot boxes!

To celebrate the holiday Blizzard has changed all regular loot boxes to special Jack o' Lanterns filled with Halloween goodies. There are over 100 new cosmetic item to collect during this special event and like in other special events any Loot box player earn or purchase will contain at least on event-specific item such as  icons, sprays, victory poses, emotes, highlight intros, skins, and more. Event items can also be unlocked with credits in the Hero Gallery during the event.

To celebrate Halloween Overwatch has also added the first ever PvE Brawl called "Junkenstein's Revenge" where team of three try and fend of waves of enemies including Dr. Junkenstein(Junkrat), Junkenstein's  Monster (Road Hog), Reaper, a witch (Mercy), and a bunch of "shambling zomnics".

As we all know, Blizzard loves the lore of their games and they have even created a comic for this event that explains what is going on, spoiler: it's basically an Overwatch version of Frankenstein.

Players will pick from four characters, the Alchemist (Ana), the Archer (Hanzo), the Gunslinger (McCree), or the Soldier (Soldier: 76), players will need to work together strategically if they want to survive the coming onslaught.

The Halloween themed Overwatch event is live now on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 and last until November 1.
