While we got a peek at Pacific Rim 2, officially titled Pacific Rim Uprising, during San Diego ComicCon last month, it looks like the film has been delayed… again. It appears as though the delay will only add a month to our waiting period, with the film moving from February 23rd to March 23rd.
The reason for the delay was not given, but the film has a troubled history of being put on hold and delayed. Luckily, we've been given an official synopsis of the film to work with:
It’s been ten years since The Battle of the Breach and the oceans are still, but restless. Vindicated by the victory at the Breach, the Jaeger program has evolved into the most powerful global defense force in human history. The PPDC now calls upon the best and brightest to rise up and become the next generation of heroes. When the Kaiju threat returns, we will be ready.
The cast of Pacific Rim Uprising includes John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Jing Tian, Cailee Spaeny, Rinko Kikuchi, Burn Gorman, Adria Arjona, and Charlie Day.
