Patch to improve Bloodborne’s load times in the works, Sony says

'Git gud'

Bloodborne is easily one of the best PlayStation 4 exclusive games available — as evidenced by the 9/10 it scored on GameZone and the hundreds of other glowing reviews on the internet. It has definitely live up to the hype.

But if there's one glaring issue impacting the overall gameplay experience it's the lengthy load times. In some instances, we had to wait 45 seconds for the game to load after a death. For a game in which you are expected to die, and die frequently, you can see how this could become a problem. As if dying wasn't frustrating enough, imagine having to wait nearly a minute to start playing again. No bueno.

Well, if Sony is to be believed, some improvement may be on the way. According to IGN, Sony has issued a statement acknowledging the lengthy load times while promising that developer FromSoftware is looking into the issue.

"The development team is currently exploring another patch for Bloodborne, seeking ways to improve load time duration, in addition to other performance optimisations and miscellaneous bug fixes," the statement reads. "We will provide more information as soon as possible."

Looking at review scores around the web, it's clear that long load times didn't go unnoticed, but it also wasn't something that completely ruined the game for players. I guess for now the only solution is to git gud and don't die.
