Patrick Wilson cast as Aquaman’s Evil Half-Brother Orm

The standalone Aquaman film officially began pre-production in November 2016 with James Wan acting as director. The internet was rumbling with rumors for the film, that called for Black Manta as the main villain. The rumor seemed likely to be true, especially after director James Wan replied "no comment" when questioned on the rumor.

Whether or not Mantis will make an appearance is unclear, but we do have an official villain now. According to a report from Deadline, Patrick Wilson will be starring in Aquaman as Orm. Also known as 'Ocean Master,' Orm is Aquaman's supervillain half brother.

Orm has been known to plot against Aquaman quite often, mostly attempting to steal the throne.

In other Aquaman news, we got a look at the Queen of Atlantis (aka Mera) in October and learned that the movie would be a swashbuckling adventure in the likes of Raiders of the Lost Ark and Romancing the Stone. Aquaman is set to release on July 27th, 2018.
