PC gaming and entertainment leader Jason Holtman left Microsoft in January

A little more than six months after being hired by Microsoft to be their new PC gaming and entertainment leader, it appears Jason Holtman has left Microsoft.

According to Holtman's LinkedIn page, Holtman left Microsoft in January. This is strange considering there was no announcement or explanation. It quietly happened without anyone knowing. He was just hired in August to oversee Microsoft's renewed PC gaming initiative. Now, Microsoft's effort to get back into hardcore PC gaming may have to be put on hold.

Also, there's no word if there's been a replacement hired. Holtman was previously the Director of Business Development at Valve. He left his position during layoffs last year.
