Bethesda's upcoming MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online will be playable at this year's Gamescom convention, ZeniMax Online has announced. The game's presence at Gamescom will allow "thousands" of fans to actually go hands-on with the highly anticipated MMORPG.
Gamescom is the largest gaming convention in Europe. This year it will be held from August 22-25 in Cologne, Germany.
For those unable to attend, fret not, as ZeniMax is still accepting applications for the game's beta. Back in January, the studio opened up registration for TESO's beta. The first batch of closed-beta invitations went out to the general public on March 26, although you can still sign up for future betas.
In The Elder Scrolls Online, you will discover an "entirely new chapter" of Elder Scrolls history. It will be set a millennium before the events of Skyrim "as the daedric prince Molag Bal tries to pull all of Tamriel into his demonic dream." Back in November, ZeniMax released a nine-minute walkthrough video detailing many of the game's features including real-time combat, grouping, the mega server feature, level 50 content, armor, and player-versus-player.
