Player explores the Wasteland outside Rocket League’s cage

There's plenty of speculation surrounding the lore behind Rocket League, and thanks to a glitch we might have finally taken our first steps towards solving the big mystery.

Through the glitch, Redditor UncomfortableNPC managed to escape the confines of Rocket League's Wasteland arena and discover what lies beyond.

Cluing us in on the potential story behind these rocket-fueled-cars-meets-soccer, the barren wasteland is littered with alien constructs and abandoned metal constructs. What does it all mean? Your guess is as good as ours, but it's exciting nonetheless!

Could it be that aliens have enslaved mankind and now force us to participate in this violent sport for their own enjoyment? If so, what happened to the alien race that this world has become a wasteland? So many questions!

Developer Psyonix recently teased "aggressive" plans for Rocket League DLC in 2016. Maybe some of it will clue us in on the background of the sport.
