A couple of months ago, Sony made it clear that they intended on buffing up account security for PlayStation users. This announcement came years after the worst attack the PlayStation Network has seen and weeks after a number of PlayStation users reported their accounts being hacked.
Well, it's finally happened! Two-step authentication has been added to PlayStation Network accounts. While this move won't stop someone from breaking the PlayStation Network's security, it will help keep users from getting their accounts hacked.
The process will work similarly to the Xbox's two-step verification. Once you log into PSN with your account password, you'll get a verification code sent to your mobile phone via text. You will then need to input that code into a window on your console.
