The Crash Bandicoot remake has been long sought after for PS4 fans and Sony finally announced last week the release date for June. Today, however, we learned of a certain caveat that, to be honest, was completely unexpected.
This morning, PlayStation Ireland revealed that the game will be releasing on "PS4 and PS4 Pro first," suggesting that the game is a timed exclusive title. This reveal came in a clarification tweet that was following up a now deleted tweet that stated Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy was exclusive to the PS4.
Unfortunately, PlayStation Ireland did not elaborate on how long the timed exclusivity would last, which platforms it would come to, or when it would come to them. The clarification tweet, which you can see below, states "To clarify our earlier post, it will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro first".
The key word here is "first", as it clearly indicates other platforms. The original three games were released solely on PlayStation platforms, so it's a bit surprising to hear that this remake would also be released elsewhere. The only other possible choices are Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Of the three, it seems the PC is the most likely candidate. Even though the tweet comes from an official Sony account, it's should be taken as unofficial for now due to the vagueness of the announcement.
We've reached out to Sony for comment and will let you know what we find out.
will launch on 30th June 2017. To clarify our earlier post, it will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro first.

Activision has neither confirmed nor denied the timed exclusivity as of yet.
