It's happening! During Sony's CES 2014 keynote today, the company revealed PlayStation Now, a new service that allows gamers to stream PS1, PS2, and PS3 games to numerous Sony devices. With no backwards compatibility offered on the PS4, this will allow you to play these games without actually owning the original consoles.
PlayStation Now will allow the streaming of games to not just the PlayStation 4 and Vita, but to other Sony-branded devices as well, including televisions, tablets, and smartphones. Games can be rented on an individual basis or through a subscription service.
And while we're still awaiting further details, Sony confirmed that Naughty Dog's The Last of Us and Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls will be among the games available to play.
A closed beta for PlayStation Now will begin later this month, with the full service rolling out to PlayStation 4, Vita, and other electronic devices this summer.
