PlayStation: The Official Magazine calls it quits

Perhaps this is a greater allegory about how print is dead and digital is the future… yatta yatta, but the fact is that PlayStation: The Official Magazine will no longer be a thing in 2013.  The last issue will be the 2012 Holiday issue.

It was a good run fellows, this news makes me sad to hear.  I have very fond memories of waiting to receive the newest Nintendo Powers in the mail as a child and they are done as well.  It would appear that video game magazines are on a decline.  Since those who usually participate in video games are internet savvy, it seems to make sense that the digital word would dominate this market.

The source for this news came from Game Informer, which I find slightly ironic.  I can’t tell if this is good news for the publication or terrifying news?
