PlayStation Vue adds ESPN, ABC, and other Disney-owned networks

Disney-owned channels coming to Sony's television streaming service

Sony has reached an agreement with Disney and ESPN Media Networks to bring ESPN, ABC, The Disney Channel, and other Disney-owned networks to PlayStation Vue.

Sony's cloud-based television streaming service, which lets users watch live TV and on-demand content without a cable or satellite service/provider, launched earlier this year in limited markets. While it's nice to see companies embracing the future that is television streaming, PlayStation Vue was limited in its selection.

This new partnership should add tremendous value as subscribers (depending on your package) will receive the following networks:

  • ABC Owned Stations Group
  • ABC Family (becoming Freeform in January)
  • Disney Channel
  • Disney Junior
  • Disney XD
  • ESPN
  • ESPN2
  • ESPN College Extra
  • ESPNU
  • ESPNEWS
  • ESPN Deportes
  • ESPN Classic
  • ESPN Goal Line
  • ESPN Buzzer Beater
  • ESPN Bases Loaded
  • Fusion
  • Longhorn Network
  • SEC-ESPN Network

Details such as launch timeframe and package information have yet to be announced.
