November 18th can't get here soon enough. In the meantime, we have Nintendo to oil our internal hype machines for the next couple of months with details on the games and just how everything will work. One of the things trainers have been wondering about is the transferral of their old Pokemon from Generation VI games (X/Y/Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire) into Sun and Moon.
Details have surfaced today regarding just that, as well as transferral of 'Mons from the Red/Blue/Yellow Virtual Console re-releases that were promised to be able to move into Sun and Moon.
An update for Pokemon Bank will be coming early next year in January 2017, that will allow compatibility for Pokemon Sun and Moon as well as the Virtual Console titles that will facilitate the transfer to the new games. Gen 1 Pokemon will only be able to get into the Pokemon Bank via Pokemon Transporter just like how Black/White/1/2 had to be done and won't be able to enter any of the Gen VI games.
Also, and this is important to note, any Gen VI Pokemon that are moved in Sun and Moon will not be able to return to the game they were transferred from. This is particularly interesting since X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire had zero problems bouncing back and forth, so one has to wonder just how different Sun and Moon will really be from their predecessors.
Pokemon Sun and Moon release on November 18th, 2016 for Nintendo 3DS.
