Pokemon GO banned in Iran

Apparently, Russia was not the only country afraid of Pokemon GO and it's potential use. Iran has officially become the first country to banned the use of Pokemon GO within the countries borders. Prior to this announcement, Iranian authorities had been waiting to see if the game's creators would 'cooperate' with them before they made their decision.

But why would Iran choose to ban Pokemon GO? Iran's High Council of Virtual Spaces, the folks responsible for what Iranians are allowed to do on the internet, banned the game over unspecified "security concerns."

Russia spoke on Pokemon GO, saying that the game could brainwash youths and could potentially involve them in "terrorist acts." Whether or not Iran acted out on Russia's fears has not been detailed, the security concerns weren't specified either.

Regardless, Iranians on social media have discussed playing Pokemon GO since the ban.
