Pokemon GO players happen upon a naked woman trashing a church

Pokemon GO has taken the world by storm, making many gamers get away from their screens and into the real world to try and catch them all. It sounds wonderful in theory, though some of what gamers have been finding have had nothing to do with Pokemon. A week ago, one trainer found a dead body while two more inadvertently found the bottom of a cliff.

This time, two men in Westport, Connecticut encountered a naked woman destroying the St. Luke's Church's prayer garden while they were trying to find Pokemon around the church. According to Sister Maureen Fleming, the woman had turned over benches, hurled trash into the church's baptismal pond and threw a statue of The Virgin Mary on the ground.

After police were called, the woman was committed to the nearby Norwalk Hospital for evaluation. According to police Lt. David Farrel, the authorities did not arrest the woman but were instead more concerned about getting her help for what was likely a medical, medication-related, or mental illness issue, and therefore not intentional.

The investigation is currently on-going, and if the authorities do find that the vandalism was intentional, they will act accordingly.

It goes without saying that everyone should be careful when playing Pokemon GO. Yes, the world is indeed full of cliffs, lakes, and it seems that not everyone is a fan of people casually strolling onto their property just to nab a Pidgey.
