Pokémon X and Pokémon Y: Two Legendary Pokémon named

You may recall that during yesterday's Pokémon X and Pokémon Y reveal announcement, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company briefly gave fans a glimpse at two new Legendary Pokémon. The tease came at the very end of the trailer when two very special Pokémon were shown.

The Pokémon Company has confirmed today that those are, indeed, Legendary Pokémon. Furthermore, they provided the names and phonetic spelling of each one. They are: Xerneas and Yveltal. It's assumed (judging by the logos of each game and the shape of each Pokémon) Xerneas will be included with Pokémon X and Yveltal with Pokémon Y. Below are the phonetic spelling of each.

  • Xerneas: ZURR-nee-us
  • Yveltal: ee-VELL-tall

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will launch worldwide in October 2013 exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
