In a recent Twitter update, Nintendo of America revealed that the upcoming Pokemon Black and White for the Nintendo DS would allow players to game competitively against other Pokemon trainers without the use of those tedious Friend Codes.
“Pokemon Black and Pokemon White Versions debut Wi-Fi Random Matchup mode, letting players battle online w/o Friend Codes for the first time,” read the update. This is certainly good news, and it’s going to be fun battling freely with little or no restrictions when the game launches on the DS.
