Power Rangers is almost here in theaters, and we're already getting info about the sequel. Director Dean Israelite spoke with Collider in a recent interview and discussed how they figured out where in the credits it would appear.
Israelite noted that “It was always gonna be sort of a post-credits scene,” Israelite said. “The only thing that we debated about that was where it comes two and a half minutes into the…after the main one ends, or is it gonna come right at the end of the credits. So we decided to kind of break the credits up.”
The full interview has a lot of information, including that the full shoot was three and a half hours. This total includes everything he shot but was cut down to two and a half hours before being widdled down to just over two hours for final release.
The credits scene should be extremely interesting in setting up the sequel, as there are many possibilities. Once Rita is defeated (Because you know it's going to happen), the Rangers could recover the Green Ranger coin. It could even be Zedd who shows up and recovers it before the Rangers as he gets ready to take over for the sequel. White Ranger appearance? His logo is on the back window of Jason's truck in the first trailer.
There's a lot to hope for and even more to be excited for, but we'll have to wait until the film releases next week, March 24th.
