PrimeGuard first to complete Destiny’s Vault of Glass raid, but not without heavy casualties

Ten-and-a-half hours after the opening of the Vault of Glass raid in Destiny, and we finally have our first completed run. That honor belongs to PrimeGuard who was one of the groups streaming their gameplay today.

If you tuned into their stream then you're probably already aware of how difficult the new raid is. If not, Bungie shared a screen cap of the Fireteam's raid stats. 1,111 kills, 822 assists, and a jaw-dropping 281 deaths. Oh, did I mention those stats are only for one of the Fireteam members, "nanowatts"? And he had a 3.95 kill/death ratio. I can only imagine how many deaths the other members had.

Talk about some Dark Souls-level of difficulty, right?

Vault of Glass opened earlier today and is designed for level 26 Guardians. Although Bungie tweeted that you may be able to access the new raid pre-level 26, they warn that "such acts would be very foolish." Judging by the sheer number of deaths in PrimeGuard's run, I'd take their advice and wait.

The good news is that Vault of Glass isn't a timed event. It will be available whenever you get there, although the progress you make in the raid is only saved for one week before resetting. As Bungie explained, it's "very likely" that you won't finish the Raid in one sitting. If you choose to save your progress, you'll have one week to resume your mission where you left off with the same Fireteam leader.

Vault of Glass is just one of many raids Bungie has planned for Destiny, which they say will only get harder and harder as time goes on. Looking at these stats and watching the streams, I can't imagine how it can get much more difficult. I guess I'll see once I hit level 26.

Have you tried the Vault of Glass raid in Destiny yet? If so, let us know what you think in the comments below.
