PS Now open beta arrives on PS3 today

PlayStation 3 users in mainland U.S. and parts of Canada can start using PlayStation Now today as the open beta, previously available only on PS4, has expanded to Sony's last-gen system.

PlayStation Now grants users quick and easy access to games by allowing them to rent and stream games directly from Sony's cloud servers, without having to wait for game downloads, installs, or patches. Currently, only PS3 games are being offered, but Sony has said it's looking into making PS1, PS2, and even PS4 games available as well.

"The library of PS Now games has grown to more than 150 titles, and will continue to grow as the service expands over time," SCEA's John Koller said, adding that God of War: Ascension, inFamous, and the recently released Ultra Street Fighter IV are all coming to PS Now soon. The question is, how much?

"PS Now offers a variety of rental periods depending on the game, and in most cases, you can rent a game for an entire week for about $1 a day," Koller added, reminding users that Sony has recently reduced the price for select 4-hour rentals. The company is still looking towards offering some sort of subscription plan.

Admittedly, it's been a while since I looked at the catalogue of titles available through PS Now, but for those of you more up to date, how has your experience been?
