Earlier this month Bethesda revealed that Sony had approved mod support on the PlayStation 4 for Fallout 4 and Skyrim: Special Edition, after initially rejecting the feature.
While PlayStation 4 owners will be able to join in on the fun that Xbox One players have been having since May, the good news comes with its own fair share of disappointing news. It appears as though PlayStation 4 mods will be much more limited than their Xbox One counterparts.
According to a report from VG247, Xbox One mods in Skyrim: Special Edition can take up about 5GB of space on your hard drive, while PS4 mods will only take around 1GB of space. Why?
Well, PS4 players won't be getting any non-Skyrim asset filled mods – that means no lighstabers or surprise John Cena in the PlayStation version. Xbox One users will be able to use mods featuring non-native assets, but PS4 owners will only be able to use mods that are created with textures available in the base game.
Skyrim: Special Edition is set to release on October 28 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
