LEGO Marvel's Avengers – January 26, 2016

LEGO Marvel's Avengers is a celebration of everything Avengers — Marvel Cinematic Universe, comic books, and cartoons all included. Technically a spin-off of the LEGO Marvel franchise, it follows the plots of both The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron, as well as Captain America: The First Avenger, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The Witness – January 26, 2016

From the creative mind of Jonathan Blow comes The Witness, a 3D puzzle which sees you explore an open world island filled with a number of natural and man-made structures. The game has been designed with as little instruction as possible, with Blow wanting to have you understand the rules of the puzzles by exploring the island and using a combination of visual clues and audio logs.

This War of Mine: Little Ones – January 29, 2016

Another game that's been available on PC since last year, This War of Mine: Little Ones is a survival-themed strategy game in which you control a group of civilian survivors in a makeshift shelter in a besiege, war-torn city. The goal is simply to survive the war using tools and materials scavenged around the city. This particular version sees you explore the hardships of wartime survival as seen from the perspective of a child.

Gemini: Heroes Reborn – January 19, 2016

Based on the relaunch of the hit TV franchise Heroes, Gemini: Heroes Reborn features a storyline from creator and Executive Producer Tim Kring which lets players experience what it's like to "Be The Hero." The expands upon the television story arc of Heroes reborn, introducing never-before-seen characters and environments, while you play as Cassandra, a young woman determined tos olve the mysteries of her past while discovering her new powers.

Resident Evil Zero HD Remaster – January 19, 2016

As the name suggests, this is a remastered version of hte popular prequel to the original title in the Resident Evil series. Resident Evil 0 was first released on Nintendo GameCube in 2002, and was later ported to the Wii in Japan in 2008 and in North America in late 2009. The story follows officer Rebecca Chambers as she investigates a series of murders while teaming up with convict Billy Coen to survive the zombie outbreak. In addition to a standalone release, Resident Evil Zero HD Remaster will be released as part of Resident Evil Origins on January 22, 2016; this is a compilation that also includes the Resident Evil HD Remaster.

Hardware Rivals – January 5, 2016

This all-terrain battle-fest of online multiplayer vehicular action will release as one of the free PlayStation Plus titles for PS4.

The Banner Saga – January 12, 2016

The Banner Saga first released on PC back in 2014, but this month the epic Viking RPG game makes its way over to PS4. The Banner Saga is a grueling story in which your choic in travel, conversation, and combat determines the outcome of your own personal adventure as well as the survival of an entire civilization. The Banner Saga combines a unique tactical combat system with a cast of unforgettable characters brought to life by stunning 2D animation and art.

January is typically a slow time for the gaming industry, as we sit back and enjoy the bundle of blockbusters delivered to us over these past few months. with the promise of an “unprecedented rush of big titles” coming to the PS4 this year, Sony is kicking off 2016 with a bang. Amplitude – January 5, 2016

Amplitude is a reboot of the 2003 cult classic music rhythm game which sees you speed down long and winding paths made up of different musical elements of a song. As you blast away the patterns of gems on the various tracks, each differentiated with the musical sounds of synthesizers, drums, vocals, and bass, you'll release musical energy and recreate the hidden song within. Amplitude features over 20 songs, with many of the developers from the original game working on the reboot.
