PSA: Overwatch is free-to-play this weekend on all platforms thanks to its Anniversary Event celebration

If you haven't played, you need to rectify that.

In case you missed it, Overwatch is officially one year old, and to celebrate Blizzard has kicked off an Anniversary event that will last until June 12th. However, a big part of that event is for people who haven't even played Overwatch, as the game is free to play on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 through Monday, May 29th at 11:59 PM PST. It's a great opportunity to get some extended hands-on time with the game, so if you've never played before, or know people who haven't, now is the time to jump in.

In order to play, you will need a Battle.net account if you're on PC, an Xbox Live Gold Subscription if you're on Xbox One, or a PlayStation Plus subscription if you're on PS4. Battle.net accounts are free to sign up for, all you need is an email address. There are no restrictions on the free weekend, so whatever Loot Boxes or Leveling up you do will be carried over into the full game should you decide to commit.

It's also worth noting that Overwatch is $20 off on all platforms through June 5th.

On top of the free weekend, Blizzard is launching a slate of new Arena Maps into Overwatch, as part of their dedication to keeping the game stacked with new content.

Overwatch is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
