Last month, it was confirmed that pre-orders for Quantum Break on the Xbox One would come a free copy of the Alan Wake spin-off game, Alan Wake's American Nightmare. According to reports, the pre-order bonus for Quantum Break has been removed across a number of retailers.
There has been no given reason as to why Alan Wake's American Nightmare was removed as a pre-order bonus, but those that pre-ordered via Amazon can still look forward to getting a free backward compatible Xbox 360 game. The replacement game is Kameo: Elements of Power, it's unclear whether this game will be offered to those that pre-purchased Quantum Break through Game.
The reported email from Amazon UK, according to Reddit user redfive55:
We're contacting you about your order #12345 for “Quantum Break”. Unfortunately we have had to make a slight change to the pre-order bonus for Quantum Break. We're no longer able to offer Alan Wake's American Nightmare as the bonus content.
However, we still want to make sure that you can get to play a classic Xbox 360 game on your Xbox One when you pre-order Quantum Break, so instead we're excited to offer you a code for Kameo: Elements of Power.
We'll be sending this over by e-mail as per the terms and conditions on the page and we hope you enjoy playing with your new free game.
As it was not detailed in the email, it's assumed that the proper Alan Wake game will still be releasing with each purchase of Quantum Break.
