Rayman Legends delay results in 30 new levels

As frustrating as the Rayman Legends delay was, there might be some good to come from it. Senior Game Manager Michael Micholic has revealed that the extra time allowed the team to create an additional 30 levels and some new boss battles.

"Trust me, the things we are adding aren't minor," Micholic told ONM. "We're not talking about adding some polish here and there, but 30 new levels and several new bosses."

Rayman Legends was originally intended as a Wii U launch title, but in February, just before the game's launch, Ubisoft announced that it would also be releasing for Xbox 360 and PS3. The result was also a delay to September 2013, which obviously angered many Nintendo fans. Fans weren't the only ones upset, though. Rayman creator Michaeel Ancel joined his co-workers in a protest, urging Ubisoft to release the Wii U version since it was ready to go.

In the same interview with ONM, Ancel admitted, "There are more important issues and problems in the world but we worked really hard to make something and were so involved, it was difficult for us and the fans."

In the end, the fans or developers didn't get their way, but Wii U owners did get a special challenge mode, exclusive to the Wii U. That challenge mode will be available in a demo later this month.
