As you probably already know, a brand new trailer for Rockstar's upcoming game Red Dead Redemption 2 dropped just a few hours ago. The trailer showed off things like action, characters, setting, and even confirmed a few rumors such as the game being a prequel to the first game and it'll center around Dutch's gang.
One thing you may not have noticed is that the trailer seems to give credibility to a map that was leaked in early 2016. At the time, Red Dead Redemption 2 had yet to be announced but someone leaked what they claimed to be a picture of the in-game map. No one could be sure of just how real it was so some just brushed it off as the game wasn't even confirmed quite yet.
However, the new trailer shows off a lot of key locations that help give weight to the leaked map. First off, a shot at the start of the trailer shows a winding river near a mountain which can be seen on the map. We also get a great look at the snowy areas which are likely located in the mountains or near them
The trailer also showcases a swampy area, showing characters wading through water as well as a alligator leaping out to kill what appears to be a pig. There's two parts on the map which that could be in. One being the Bayou marked on the map, there's a slaughterhouse located there, and another being a pig farm also located near water.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is due for release in Spring 2018 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
