Registration for World of Tanks competition opens today, you could win $77,000

Wargaming.net, the award-winning game developer and publisher, has announced registration for the upcoming World of Tanks International Ural Steel Championship 2012 has opened up. Your chance to win the $77,000 grand prize can begin today; signups will continue through July 31, 2012.

"World of Tanks has become a global eSport discipline," said Wargaming CEO Victor Kislyi. "The game is turning into a massive communication platform that merges together gaming communities of different countries and regions."

The competition will host 16 teams of the world's best World of Tanks gamers hailing from all over the world. They will compete on six battle maps for their shot at winning the Ural Steel Championship 2012 and claiming a prize purse of $77,000.

"We'll continue to encourage and support eSport events like Ural Steel in the future, providing attractive prizes and contributing our skills and knowledge to make these events even more exciting," added Kislyi. More than 40,000 players from nearly 30 countries competed in the first Ural Steel Championship last year.

The Grand Finals will take place on September 15-16 at CSKA Sport Arena in Moscow, Russia. You can sign up for the Ural Steel 2012 below:
