Report: Next-generation Microsoft console to be called ‘Xbox Infinity’

According to a new report from the UK branch of the International Business Times, Microsoft’s next-generation console will be called “Xbox Infinity.”

The UK outlet’s report features a number of unnamed sources that are allegedly involved with the next-generation Microsoft console. The report itself comes on the heels of an image that was leaked onto Reddit less than a month ago featuring the Xbox Infinity logo and tagline reading, “ Infinite entertainment. Infinite possibilities.”

The sources within the International Business Times’ piece also report that development units have already been sent out to software development partners, but when contacted by Times and GameSpot, a Microsoft representative plainly stated, "We do not comment on rumours or speculation. We are always thinking about what is next for our platform, but we don't have anything further to share at this time."

If you’re like us, you’re growing wearing hearing all these rumors on a daily basis, but this one seems to be carrying heavy weight in terms of the brand that Microsoft has been attempting to reach with the Xbox 360 and Kinect, aka both the hardcore and casual crowd. However, all will be know in less than two weeks when Microsoft unveils the juicy details on May 21 at the Microsoft campus in Redman, Washington.

So we ask you: what do you want the next-generation Microsoft console to be called? Xbox Infinity? Xbox 720? Xbox? Something else? Let us know by commenting below.
