Sony hasn't announced when Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be released for PlayStation 4, but thanks to a UK retailer, we may have a better idea for a release window.
Though it's likely just a placeholder, Tesco Direct has Unhcarted 4: A Thief's End listed for release on July 31, 2015. Now the fact that it's scheduled for the end of the month almost certainly means it's a placeholder, but the date could at least suggest a release window for Naughty Dog's highly anticipated PS4 exclusive.
Summer releases for blockbuster games are typically unheard, especially for the Uncharted franchise which has had all, but one of its installments (the PS Vita's Uncharted: Golden Abyss) release in the fall/winter period. Naughty Dog tends to play by their own rules, though, releasing their PS3 blockbuster The Last of Us in June 2013; so it's not like Naughty Dog is a stranger filling the summer void with a big game.
Of course, as I suggested before, this could be nothing more than a simple placeholder as Sony has only offered a vague "2015" launch window for the game.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End was shown off in great detail last weekend at PlayStation Experience. Although we weren't able to go hands-on with it, Naughty Dog did show off about 15 minutes of jaw-dropping gameplay. Despite the excitement of a first-look at gameplay, there were a few hiccups here and there which leads me to believe a fall 2015 release is more likely — especially since there's still so much mystery surrounding the game. I'm thinking Sony will hold off until E3 in June 2015 to announce a fall release for Uncharted 4. What do you think?
