There’s nothing more American than blasting giant insects with big guns. Even though the game’s launch isn’t scheduled until later next week, it appears a few retailers have begun selling Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon. This is sure to brighten the day of any gamer who was looking forward to getting the game.
News of the early release came via Game Informer, where it was confirmed that Insect Armageddon would be launching over the Fourth of July weekend. It seems that not every retailer is doing this, though, so don’t be surprised if a few stores turn down your request to purchase the bug-zapping title early on. I’m willing to bet that Walmart would do something absurd like putting the game on the shelf and then telling you it’s not available for purchase just yet.
Insect Armageddon looks like an enjoyable action-packed romp that fans of crazy third-person shooters are likely to enjoy. The game is listed at $39.99, so it’s a fairly cheap buy, too. If you want this game, you’d do well to get your hands on it early.
I should probably point out that this isn’t the first time something like this has happened. I recall picking up my copy of Scarface: The World Is Yours a couple of days early. Sure, that game wasn’t that great, but I’m using it as a reference here, people. In any case, be sure to grab your copy of Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon over this lovely holiday weekend and prepare to fry bugs, grill meat, and watch fireworks.
