If you're a fan of retro games, then Dark Flame needs to be on your radar. The game bears its influences from both Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and the more modern Dark Souls series, to bring you a game that is equal parts challenging and aesthetically pleasing. The game tells the tale of the Knight known as Taharial, a crusader in the Baltic Crusades, who embarks upon a journey to defeat an unknown evil that is bringing insanity down upon those around him.
Lead Developer, Warren Smith had this to say about the game:
"I’m hoping to deliver a fantastic gaming experience to those who, like me, want that retro action feel. Most players have enjoyed what I have so far, and I believe they will get that warm fuzzy feeling when they load up the final version of the game. To turn this possibility into a reality, supporters via Patreon are the lifeblood of our development. I’m very grateful for those who are choosing to accompany me on this journey."
Dark Flame is currently on Patreon, and if you choose to support it, you can get your hands on the game's pre-alpha demo. Until December, players can get their name in the credits by only supporting the game at its lowest tier, which is only $1. Not bad, right? However, after December, you will have to donate at the $5 to get your name in the credits, so time is limited.
Here's a list of Dark Flame's main features per an official press release:
One of the benefits of being a Patron for the game is that you will have access to monthly build updates, so you know that you will always have something to look forward to.
