Rockstar issued a new update for their ever-popular multiplayer component of Grand Theft Auto 5. Players of GTA Online can now experience car soccer, made super popular by Rocket League, in the brand-new Arena War mode Bomb Ball.
Of course, Bomb Ball isn’t just a simple copy of Rocket League and puts its own satirical spin on the vehicular sport. Instead of simply trying to score goals by hitting a ball into the enemy teams goal, Mad Max-esque terror autos are fighting and crashing to transport actual huge bombs to the enemy’s goal. It’s not called Arena War for nothing after all.
Bomb Ball is live now for all GTA Online players across all platforms and is part of this month’s festive update. Befitting the Holiday season, the world of San Andreas has also gotten a nice make-up in form of decorative elements all over the region and even snow.
As you can see, if you’re burnt out from the multiplayer madness that is GTA Online or just got GTA5 gifted during Christmas, now’s a great time to hop on the multiplayer and try out something entirely different.
Accompanying the new addition of a car combat/sport mode, players of GTA Online will also receive plenty of new ingame cosmetics, cars and cash by playing during the holidays. With the sexy Grotti Itali GTO, available at Legendary Motorsports, there’s a fine new addition to the already large roaster of exotic and exciting sports cars. As a free gift, everybody who plays GTA Online between now until January 7th further receives the two Grotti & Weeny T-Shirts.
There are loads more extra gifts for playing each day until January 1st and the usual assortement of discounts. Check them out in detail on Rockstar’s post here.
Similarly, everyone will receive double GTA$ & RP by doing the following activities until January 7:
- Arena War series
- Client Jobs (Terrorbyte Missions)
- Biker Contract Missions
- Gunrunning Sales
- Special Cargo Sales
- Smuggler’s Run Cargo Sales
