What does it say about a game when it out-downloads any game that releases the following year? That's exactly what happened with Rocket League and the PS4. Personally, I prefer to think that means that the game itself has incredible staying power, and in the case of Rocket League, it's hard to argue. The PlayStation Blog just released the list for the most downloaded games on all of the platforms, which you can check out here.
But here's the list that really matters; the top 20 most downloaded games on PS4:
- Rocket League
- Battlefield 1
- Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
- Tom Clancy’s The Division
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Overwatch: Origins Edition
- Battlefield 4
- No Man’s Sky
- EA SPORTS FIFA 17
- NBA 2K17
- Need for Speed
- Star Wars Battlefront
- TOM CLANCY’S RAINBOW SIX SIEGE
- Battlefield Hardline
- Madden NFL 17
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition
- UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
- The Last Of Us Remastered
- FINAL FANTASY XV
Overall, the list isn't too surprising. Naturally, critics will point to No Man's Sky at #9 and scoff, but other than that, everything is about what you'd expect. In the case of Rocket League, developer Harmonix has kept the game updated with additional maps, modes, and unlocks which has helped keep the game relevant and fresh. Rocket League is certainly one of my go-to games when I just want to relax without investing myself too much while fulfilling that competitive edge, and it seems many other players feel the same way.
