Rogue Legacy coming to PS4, PS3, and Vita later this month

Cellar Door Games' genalogical rogue-"LITE" Rogue Legacy is coming to PS4, PS3, and Vita. What's more, it'll be available this month on July 29. Boom.

So as I mentioned, Rogue Legacy is a "genealogical rogue-"LITE," meaning it offers elements of a rogue-like. Basically, when your character dies, he is dead for good. However, each time you die, your child will succeed you. Every child is unique, so one child might be colorblind while another might have vertigo.

Cellar Door Games admits you don't have to be perfect to beat the game, but adds that is is "HARD." The good thing has that when you die — and you probably will die — all of the gold you've collected can be used to upgrade your manor, giving your next child an advantage in life. The castle in which you must conquer is procedurally generated so every time you die you'll be exploring a new threat.

Now, let's talk PlayStation specific details.

Rogue Legacy will be cross buy so when you buy it once, you'll have it on all three PlayStation systems. That's good because it's also cross save functional, meaning you can transfer your saves from Vita to PS4/PS3, and vice versa. There's also multi-language support, an awesome Vita control scheme and a Platinum Trophy. Lastly, the PlayStation versions of Rogue Legacy will include every feature in the PC version, including all of the content patches. So you'll also get the extra Bonus zones, traits, and boss remixes.

It wasn't announced, but I'm assuming Rogue Legacy will be priced at $14.99, the same as on Steam.
