Rumor: Bethesda is working on a Skyrim Remaster

Regarded industry insider Shinobi602 claims something is in the works

E3 2016 is days away, and the rumor mill has begun to churn. With all of the announcements and rumors making their rounds today (Horizon: Zero Dawn, Watch Dogs 2 and Dead Rising 4), one may have gone a bit overlooked. According to industry insider, Shinobi602, Bethesda is currently working on a Remaster of some kind.

Shinobi602 appeared on a podcast with MrMattyPlays to talk all things E3 2016 and among his (many) juicy tidbits, he mentioned that we should expect to see a "Remaster of sorts" that we can expect to see at Bethesda's E3 Conference. Shinobi was pretty coy as to what exactly the Remaster is, though MrMatty seemed pretty sure he knew what it was.

Speculation has popped up around the internet that the Remaster in question is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which would make a ton of sense. Given Skyrim's massive and enduring popularity, Bethesda's recent launch of mods for consoles and the fact that Skyrim has been a modding haven for years, it's easy to see how the pieces come together.

Nothing here is confirmed, but Shinobi602 has a history of being pretty accurate with his leaks. Regardless, all will be revealed come Sunday.
