Rumor: Mass Effect: Andromeda survey details story and colonization

Back in April 2015, prior to Mass Effect: Andromeda's reveal, a survey was leaked that potentially offered spoilers on the game's story. Nearly one year later, a new survey has been leaked — offering nearly the same details on the game, except more vague.

A survey, revealed on NeoGaf, has provided further information on the direction EA and BioWare will be taking on Andromeda's marketing. From the text included in the survey, we know that we have left the Milky Way in search for a new home to colonize.

Mass Effect: Andromeda takes players to  the Andromeda galaxy, far beyond the Milky Way, where players will lead the fight for a new home in hostile territory – where WE are the aliens- opposed by a deadly indigenous race bent on stopping us.

Experience the freedom to traverse and explore a planet-dense but seamless open-world galaxy, rich with discovery. Play at the leader of a squad of military-trained explorers in an intense third-person shooter, with deep progression and customization systems.

This is the story of humanity's next chapter, and player choices throughout the game will ultimately determine our survival in the Andromeda Galaxy.

The survey goes on to add:

There is a major battle brewing, and it awaits you. It is unfolding across a galaxy of planets, with creatures and species entirely unknown. Draw your weapon, because the fight is bigger than you thought. It's not just for your own life, it's for all of humanity – the ultimate battle for a place we can all call home.

What is interesting about this survey is that the previous survey detailed something very similar – except with a lot more information. Both surveys overlap in the story and colonization aspect:

The Story

The survey suggested that the next Mass Effect game is set to take place in the Helius Cluster, in a setting that is very separate from Commander Shepard and the events from the Mass Effect trilogy. The game will have you acting as a pathfinder, someone that is trained but not tested for battle on a journey to find a new home for humanity.

On you journey to colonize world (and you will be colonizing it), you come across the remains of the "Remnant" a once  powerful alien race whose technology holds the key to controlled the region of the galaxy. Looking deeper into the Remnant leads you on a journey to keep the Remnant out of the wrong hands and save humanity.

Colonies

Progression through the game will lead you to establishing settlements in the Helius Cluster, each settlement location is a strategic decision. Those settlements can offer you resources to upgrade equipment or give your crew more missions.

In addition to the colonization and story information, it was detailed that your crew consists of seven members that you can develop relationships with.
