We got an extensive look yesterday at some of the radically different new features in the latest Pokémon installments, Sun and Moon. It showed off new versions of classic pocket monsters, Trial Leaders, and powerful new moves that can turn the tide of battle. As someone who loves the franchise, but believes it is in desperate need of an overhaul, this all seemed like music to my ears! But the news was vaguely familiar and that’s because it had been leaked before.
Blog PokéJungle early last month translated some rumors from a Chinese message board, which made some wild allegations like there’d be no gyms in the new game. A month ago, we would have called bull, but after yesterday’s trailer, it seems that this may indeed be the case. If these rumors are true, then it means that this image is real.
Those are some fine looking final evolutions for our three starters. Personally, the news that we won’t see a traditional gym system saddens me slightly, however, the rumor claims that we might be able to form our own gyms. So despite my slight disappointment, I’m nothing if not intrigued, and welcome a franchise being able to make such radical changes. We won’t have to wait long, as the game drops November 18th!
