[Rumor] Sonic Mania Will Possibly Have Animated Cut Scenes

Sonic Mania continues to become more and more interesting as news comes out for it. While the Sonic brand has waned in recent years, Sonic Mania seems to bring back what we loved in the old blue blur. To add to this, it's rumored that the game will have animated cutscenes.

Rumors like the one posted on Max Collins' Tumblr which was quickly removed, shows a short animation of Sonic. The scene shows an enemy, which has yet to be revealed as one of the Hard Boiled Heavies, attacking sonic. Collins has done work with Studio Yotta and Cartoon Network, leading some to believe this animation could be something official.

Another piece of evidence is the silhouette picture below. They're enemies of the game that are yet to be revealed. Yet this character in the animation matches one of the silhouettes pretty perfectly.

If this implies there will be charming, 90's-style cutscenes in Sonic Mania, that would be a warm welcome to the already 90's tribute of a game.
