Rune Factory 4, a Harvest Moon-like role-playing game, launched for 3DS in October last year. It was a quiet enough release at the time, but now, North American publisher Xseed Games says that sales are well above what it predicted.
"We've received quite a few inquiries asking about Rune Factory 4 since it's been difficult to find in stores in North America," Xseed wrote on its Facebook page. "Don't worry! It's just been selling well beyond our expectations, so we're working as quickly as possible to restock physical copies."
Xseed called Rune Factory 4 a "major success." That's a big deal for a small localized title, especially when the developer, Neverland, ceased operations due to financial reasons a month after the game launched in the U.S. (The title released in Japan a year before).
However, Japanese publisher Marvelous AQL, which owns Xseed, is preparing a new game from "the developers of Rune Factory."
