Ryse: Son of Rome gets an interactive comic, earn in-game items for Xbox One

Xbox One exclusive Ryse: Son of Rome has received a new interactive digital comic that not only gives you a background of the game, but provides you with a chance to earn in-game gold for when the game releases.

The Ryse: Sword of Damocles comics is actually a series of three, the first of which can be be viewed here. It follows Centurion Damocles, a man who would give his life in defense of his beloved Rome, but is betrayed by corrupt general. Now he returns from the Underworld to exact revenge and those who betrayed him — and to save Rome I guess.

The comic is actually pretty entertaining with several portions in it where you can interact with elements on the page. Remember those old storybooks where you would press the corresponding button when the image was indicated on the page and it would make a sound? It's kind of like that — and who didn't love those type of books? By simply clicking on one of the elements you can hear some sound effects or watch a brief animation that goes along with what's happening in the story. Ah, childhood.

The real catch here, though, are the collectibles you can find scattered throughout the issue. By clicking around the pictures you can find gold which, in turn, can be used for you when you play Ryse: Son of Rome on Xbox One.

To check out the new issue of Ryse: Sword of Damocles go here. The other two issues are coming in due time.
